UNIT 26: Selection and Use of Teaching Aids

      

         
Teaching aids are all  the resources and equipment available to us in classroom, all of these teaching aids will help us as future teachers to help our students to understand in a better way the language they are acquiring. Therefore, all the equipment such as; computers, DVD players, CD players and overhead projectors ( OHPs) will help us to achieve our goal which is help students to become good at the second language. Besides, all of those resources have a purpose. For example, the board helps us to give grammar examples and explanations which serves as a help with visual learners. Another is, the DVD player which helps to listening practice with visual information. Furthermore, the language laboratory helps with grammar drills. Also, we can say that realia, flashcards, cue/promp cards, charts and puppets are another helpful resources we can use inside the classroom. I consider that this unit has been very helful due that I learnt that there are many kinds of aids which help teachers and learners to achieve a goal, for example, the teacher's goal is to make their students to develop all their four skills and the students' goal is to become good at the language. Finally, when I become a teacher, I will apply all that I leant by using all the aids available in the classroom due that students have different intelligences and theyr need different aids in order to learn and I consider that Would be a good idea to use all those helpful aids.
